16x20, ACRYLIC PAINTS ON ACRYLIC ARTIST SERIES HEAVY WEIGHT PAPER , PAINTED 2026

Olga has a painting that she's just finished and warned me that she doesn't want to talk about or she doesn't have a lot to talk about in terms of why this painting came about. There is definitely a story in it so we're just going to let her talk about this painting, if I can get her to open up.

When did you finish this painting, April 4 so what's the name of this painting in English?
Things From the Sea. I was interested in things, pieces of shapes, coral , interesting shapes. On my walks on the beach, I revel in the breezes, the air the beauty of these gorgeous bleached pieces of coral that have these wonderful evocative shapes and it's just almost like a meditation on the sea and these sky and these pieces that represent the sea and the sky, when I bring them home.

The painting is not on a wood surface?
No no this is on paper this is actually is a drawing that I added a painterly background. I just left it in pencil because it a study of these pieces that i found on the beach, and then I just painted a representation in my head of what the air feels like on the beach.

OK and why did you paint it even though it was a pencil drawing originally, it's very complicated?
I didn't think that a pencil background would do it justice. I just wanted something light to represent the cleanliness of the ocean breeze, and so I tried to capture that in paint.

Were these in the water when you found them or just in the tidal area? In the tidal area of the surf.
In the morning when I take my beach walk, and keep all these little pieces of the ocean to my husbands chagrin, is there a special place that you hide them, everywhere I can.

It seems that you are really in tune with nature and the beach, the sky the water. You go to the beach and you find all these little pieces of the environment and it becomes a painting. Is it something that you want to continue to do?
I probably will, sometimes I will make a series, we'll see like I said I don't really think of the future, it's whatever strikes me.

Are you going to the beach tomorrow?
Every morning.
